Professor Dennis Lo is the current Associate Dean of Research and a Li Ka Shing Professor of Medicine at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, as well as the Head of the Department of Chemical Pathology. His original groundbreaking research focused on the detection of cell-free foetal DNA in blood plasma. He is widely credited for revolutionalising non-invasive pre-natal diagnostic testing.
